Job Title: Financial Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist to join our team at the Virginia Department of Aviation. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure the effective management of our fiscal and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities
  • Perform funding program reconciliations and weekly reconciliation of deposits, vouchers, and travel reimbursements
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements
Requirements:
  • Considerable experience using Cardinal Financials module for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft software programs
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with reconciliation processes and remote deposits
  • Experience in creating pivot tables and macros
  • Experience with federal reporting and Commonwealth document retention processes
