We are excited to present an opportunity for a Financial Reporting Specialist within the Peoria Record-to-Report division at Caterpillar. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing and contributing to various areas within the shared services team, offering legal entity support, strategic insights, and decision-making on financial and transactional applications.
This position will primarily concentrate on the parent company and select manufacturing facilities within shared services, where you will become a subject matter expert for those facilities and processes, including monthly closing, reporting, analysis, and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the closing processes for GBS facilities and provide analysis and presentation of actual results.
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation processes to support facilities.
- Offer technical guidance and expertise to the team.
- Lead comprehensive activities that require adherence to U.S. GAAP and Caterpillar's accounting standards.
- Collaborate with Technical Accounting on complex business issues, including financial reporting requirements.
- Champion our shared services model and participate in the development of business strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, providing guidance to colleagues.
- Work with the team to standardize reporting processes with a focus on lean transformation.
- Foster talent and organizational development to strengthen the team, including managing and training team members and third-party providers.
- Attention to Detail: Recognize the importance of accuracy and the ability to complete tasks with precision.
- Finance and Accounting Knowledge: Familiarity with finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to utilize analytical techniques to identify root causes of organizational challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple priorities and making effective judgments regarding time allocation.
- Financial Analysis Expertise: Capability to interpret financial data and draw accurate conclusions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA/CMA certification is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting.
- Domestic relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
- Sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%.
