Medical Assistant Float Position

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to join our internal staffing resource pool. This proactive solution ensures sufficient staffing throughout our health system, addressing unplanned or short-term staffing needs due to vacations, call-offs, leave of absences, increases in census or acuity.
As a Medical Assistant Float, you will have the opportunity to work at various Henry Ford Health System locations within the southeastern Michigan region. Under the direct supervision of providers and nursing leadership, you will perform administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and escort patients to the exam room
- Take medical histories and measure vital signs
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
To be successful in this role, you must have a graduate degree from a Medical Assistant program with a minimum of 160-hour clinical externship. Alternatively, you can have a minimum of one year of continuous work as a Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience or meet one of the other specified requirements.
You must also possess basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills, as well as the ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care. A successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test is also required.
Certifications/LicensesA current BLS-C certificate is mandatory, and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is preferred.
