Overview:
Communications Design Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled Audio Visual Systems Engineer to enhance our dynamic team. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about audio-visual technology, sound engineering, or IT-related fields, and who thrive in a collaborative, small business environment where your insights are valued.

The ideal candidate will be a professional, technically adept, and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in audio-visual systems design and execution, as well as experience in construction and architectural detailing.

A strong background in system design, budget management, and program development is essential.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent planning and organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to implementing best practices in audio-visual system design.

Familiarity with the construction sector and AIA standards is highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Lead Designers and Account Managers in conceptualizing and developing design ideas.
- Design audio-visual systems using contemporary technologies, including control systems, digital signal processors, matrix mixers, switchers, AV over IP, video conferencing tools, and display technologies.
- Review contractor submissions and conduct design analyses with a focus on precision and detail.
- Provide support and coordination with clients and project teams throughout all project phases, from initial design to final commissioning.
- Engage in design collaboration, peer evaluations, and quality control processes before and after bidding.
- Participate in site inspections and attend project meetings.
- Contribute to project commissioning and closure, ensuring customer sign-off and reporting.
- Continuously enhance your knowledge of audio-visual products and industry trends through vendor opportunities and self-directed learning.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in engineering or technical services within the commercial audio-visual sector.
- Ability to interpret base building drawings, system schematics, and specifications.
- AVIXA CTS-D certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Acrobat is required; Revit experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
Compensation:
- Salary starting from $90,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience.
