Design Engineer: This position utilizes CAD systems to design engineering products or equipment. Assists engineers in the design and implementation of products, processes and tooling. Incumbents break down information obtained from specifications, sketches, customer layout drawings and instructions finished by others and convert the information into detailed drawings with section views and dimensions. The Design Engineer is a self-motivated team member reporting to the Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, will have demonstrated engineering knowledge and experience, ability to manage multiple projects and have 1-5 years’ experience in the engineering field.

Responsibilities:

  • Sound knowledge of engineering design and develop principles typically evidenced by a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Develop and modify designs and manufacturing processes based on project requirements, specifications, and feedback from engineering and production teams.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify and analyze production issues, providing solutions to streamline processes, enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Thorough knowledge of SolidWorks design software packages.
  • Provide technical support to production teams to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Assist in the development and testing of prototypes to validate design concepts and performance.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation and work instructions, including CAD files, technical drawings, and design change records.
  • Communicate effectively with production management, quality control personnel, and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and address design-related issues.
  • Perform maintenance on department equipment as required; and maintain a clean, organized work area to promote efficiency, safety, and a positive work environment.

Category: Non-exempt employee, full time

Shift: First (8:00 am – 4:30 pm)


Qualified candidates will possess the following minimum requirements:

  • Due to ITAR requirements, we can only consider American Citizens for this position.
  • Must have at least 20/20 vision – with vision correction aides (i.e. glasses, contacts)
  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods and operate resources with arms and hands
  • Must be able to pass a 5-panel drug screen that includes marijuana
  • Attention to detail is a must, along with the ability to ignore distractions while working
