Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Process payroll and ensure timely filings, including multi-jurisdictional sales tax and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the external CPA to create accurate tax estimates and ensure estimated tax payments are scheduled and paid on time.
  • Oversee subscription renewals, ensuring customer renewals are executed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and assist the CEO with financial analysis to support decision-making and company growth strategies.
  • Audit and compliance: Collaborate with the external CPA on tax filings, audits, and year-end financial reviews, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Process improvement: Independently manage the accounting department, ensuring that processes are followed and identifying changes to improve efficiency for the company and customer requests.
  • Team supervision: Supervise and mentor two team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally in a small business environment.
  • Software proficiency: Experience with ZOHO Books and MS Office (Excel, Word).
  • Tax knowledge: Strong understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax laws and compliance, with experience in payroll processing and sales tax filings.
  • Organizational skills: Excellent attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Independent problem solver: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating logical and creative thinking to solve complex problems.
  • Team management: Ability to supervise and mentor two team members.
  • Communication skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the CEO, CPA, and other stakeholders.
