Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Associate to join our team at Goodwill Southern California. As a Retail Associate, you will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional customer experience, achieving sales goals, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent service to all customers, engage with each customer, and present a friendly and cooperative attitude.
  • Point of Sale (POS) and Cash Handling: Perform accurate POS and cash handling procedures.
  • Goodwill Mission and Values: Communicate our Mission and act in accordance with our values (RISE: Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence) to our employees, customers, and donors.
  • Donation Processing: Receive and accurately record donations using technology.
  • Merchandising and Sales Floor Maintenance: Sort, clean, process, price donated goods, following company standards, and maintain the sales floor.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe environment by following all personal protective equipment policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork and Flexibility: Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed, and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Basic English Skills: Ability to read, speak, and write Basic English.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate a cash register, personal computer, and other technology necessary to complete assigned activities.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to share Goodwill's purpose with customers or donors and ask for monetary donations.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work with a diverse team and adapt to changing situations.
  • Previous Retail Experience: Some retail and sales experience is helpful.
  • Attendance and Punctuality: Punctual and dependable attendance is required.
  • Goodwill's Values: Understand and adhere to Goodwill's values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence.
