Job Summary

The Financial Data Analyst plays a critical role in the Finance and Accounting functions at Seacoast Bank. This position works closely with subject matter experts and the Data Management Office to ensure the effective utilization of data through analysis, discovery, report preparation, and investigation of potential data quality issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with management to prioritize data and information needs.
  • Work with subject matter experts to translate needs into business requirements.
  • Develop expertise in data structures and data elements, interpret data, and analyze results.
  • Develop data mappings, data flows, and data lineage artifacts.
  • Identify and recommend new sources of data for acquisition.
  • Identify data quality issues and recommend improvements to overall data quality.
  • Identify and define new process improvement opportunities.
Requirements
  • BA/BS in Business, Computer Science, Information Management, or related discipline.
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
  • 5+ years' professional experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of writing queries in structured query language (SQL).
  • Experience with one or more major database platforms (Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of MS Office, Visio, or other diagramming tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex ideas and findings.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good working knowledge of data mapping techniques and writing business requirements.
  • Experience and exposure to project management concepts and tools.
  • Required non-technical skills include written communication, interpersonal skills, working in a team environment, complex problem-solving, results-oriented, adaptability to change, self-motivated, and able to see the big picture while delivering tangible results.
