Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Pharmacists with filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies, maintaining a clean and organized inventory.
  • Count and record stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Process insurance claims and understand Medicare regulations.
  • Translate prescriptions into our computer system for pharmacist approval.
  • Input prescription orders accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Assist in completing and updating medication profiles for patients.
  • Maintain accurate dispensing records and other required documentation.
  • Communicate with physician offices for refill requests, adhering to state Pharmacy regulations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and vendors.
  • Comply with all HIPAA laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with new medications and prescription changes.
  • Pursue or hold a pharmacy technician certification.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three months of related experience and/or training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Work Environment

The work environment at Niemann Foods is fast-paced and dynamic. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be required to:

  • Stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel for extended periods.
  • Occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in a moderate noise level environment.
