Job Title: Senior Embedded Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Engineer to join our team at RightPro Staffing. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing high-speed control systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams to architect, design, document, implement, test, release, and deploy high-speed control systems.
  • Interface with internal and external clients to translate high-level application requirements into deployable solutions.
  • Work with OEM suppliers to identify and adapt various control system technologies for use on our systems.
  • Plan and maintain project schedules, ensuring solutions meet all requirements and are delivered within specified timeframes and budget allocations.
  • Support manufacturing and service personnel in complex troubleshooting, with some field support and travel required.
  • Manage and supervise aspects of electrical installations at client facilities, with occasional domestic and international travel.
  • Collaborate within the development engineering group and support other teams within the company.
Requirements:
  • 10-20+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Computer Engineering or other electrical engineering discipline.
  • Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering considered but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge with Board design, servo motors, FPGA design, and system-level integration of control system design and architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge in embedded controller design, embedded software (Assembly, Intel, C), and Microcontrollers/DSP (TI, Renesas, Atmel).
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge of embedded Analog/Digital design practices, board-level DC power design (DC/DC, AC/DC), and Computer interfacing (PCIe, USB, Serial).
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge of embedded servo drive design and implementation, closed-loop position control, and specifically current control.
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge of harness and cabling design and system schematic layout in 2D CAD, able to specify connectors and properly size wiring.
  • Familiarity with motion control techniques, low-level ethernet networking hardware, high-speed I/O design, barcode, RFID, OCR scanning systems, optics, and lensing for imaging system technologies a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge of RCAD Schematic capture and board layout, as well as Mentor graphics capture and board layout a plus.
  • OEM Motor and drive specification, analysis, and the ability to analyze servo motor characteristics using a dyno a plus.
  • Knowledge of both international and domestic machine safety standards (particularly EN60204, EN62368, and NFPA79 a plus).
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve system interdisciplinary level problems, including mechanical and electrical issues under tight timeframes.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to effectively liaise with different teams and external suppliers in a friendly and approachable manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse and distributed product teams with a hands-on, get-the-job-done attitude.
  • A maximum of up to 2-3 weeks of domestic travel required per year.
