Job Title: Senior Engineer

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our Ship Signatures Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our ship's components, systems, and structures meet the challenging radiated noise requirements of a submarine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build ship components, systems, and structures to meet noise requirements
  • Conduct research to extend the state-of-the-art in noise control technology and acoustic analysis methods
  • Develop concepts for noise control of current and future submarine designs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM discipline from an accredited college/university
  • 5-20 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with analysis in harmonic vibration and random vibration excitations
  • Fundamental knowledge of passive, semi-passive, and active vibration control methodologies
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB scripting language and general programming concepts
  • An active SECRET clearance, or ability to obtain a SECRET clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM discipline from an accredited college/university
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in acoustics, linear vibrations, classic, modern, digital, and robust controls, structural dynamics, finite element analysis, digital signal processing, analog to digital processing, signal analysis, filter design, digital system design, linear electronics, signals and systems
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), MATLAB, Python, C/C++, LabView, and/or other computational modeling tools and programming languages
