Position Summary:

We are in search of a committed Environmental Compliance Officer to supervise and ensure adherence to environmental regulations across numerous construction sites. The selected candidate will be tasked with performing inspections, upholding compliance with local and state regulations, and safeguarding environmental standards to protect both the organization and natural ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of solar construction sites in accordance with the guidelines established by the relevant environmental authorities.
  • Organize and maintain documentation related to Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
  • Assess and prioritize tasks based on urgency, weather conditions, contractual commitments, and regulatory timelines.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with local and state regulatory officials.
  • Employ analytical skills to identify and resolve erosion and other environmental challenges, utilizing knowledge of best management practices.
  • Strictly comply with all applicable environmental laws and permitting requirements.
  • Identify and report any environmental issues to the environmental compliance manager and site manager in a timely manner.
  • Be prepared to travel extensively across the region, including overnight stays, to fulfill site coverage requirements.
  • Demonstrate self-sufficiency in managing tasks and priorities to ensure completion without the need for close supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Physical ability to traverse long distances in diverse outdoor environments.
