Staff Nurse-PAC

NYC Health + Hospitals/McKinney is a 320-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility with a 5-Star CMS Quality Rating located in central Brooklyn. Our facility provides exceptional short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing services in a warm and comfortable setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure dress code meets department policy.
- Review and understand instructions in the residence plan of care before performing care/assistance to a resident.
- Document in the electronic medical record (EMR) any care/assistance provided to a resident promptly after providing the care/assistance.
- Ensure residents are protected from any abuse, neglect, mistreatment, misappropriation of resident property or exploitation and report immediately any of these issues to their supervisor.
- Direct, plan and supervise the nursing regimen of resident care in the absence of the Head Nurse.
- Maintain accurate records by charting medications, treatment, and observations made of resident's condition.
- Notify the charge person of any serious change in resident's condition and take remedial action if necessary.
- Evaluate continuously the effectiveness of nursing care being given assigned residents.
- Make provision for an optimum physical environment for residents in conformance with facility policy.
- Assist with the direction of ancillary workers assigned to the unit.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the ADN.
- A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
