Holland Partner Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our collaborative accounting team at our corporate office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a full range of accounting duties for assigned properties in accordance with our company's Core Values.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly financial statements, including all supporting documents and schedules, for assigned portfolio.
- Complete month-end accounting close for assigned property portfolio.
- Complete detailed balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
- Prepare and post monthly and quarterly journal entries.
- Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for all journal entries within the ledger system.
- Research and resolve accounting issues affecting underlying accounting records.
- Collaborate daily with Senior Accountants, Property Managers, and Regional Property Managers to ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities.
- Serve as a resource to Property Managers on topics related to accounting.
- Represent Holland Partner Group in a professional manner at all times.
- Conform to company apparel standards and set a positive example for all Associates.
- Perform all other duties as directed and assist the overall team effort in any way possible.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
- Two years minimum experience in general ledger accounting. Previous experience in property management accounting strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including journal entries, debits, and credits.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with an emphasis on accrual accounting.
- Ability to accurately perform basic to intermediate mathematical functions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office. Yardi and/or MRI software experience preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively work under pressure, reassess daily competing priorities, and proactively meet cyclical deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees within the organization.
- Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally.
