Avionics Design Engineer - Harness Specialist

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As an Avionics Design Engineer - Harness Specialist, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the electrical systems that power our spacecraft and satellites.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop wire harnesses for our Starlink vehicles
  • Develop harness design solutions within a 3D CAD environment
  • Generate electrical schematics to support flight and qualification designs
  • Own vehicle-level harnessing mechanical assemblies and drive system integration trades
  • Perform analysis and physical testing of harnessing to ensure qualification for flight
  • Document and communicate design, analysis, and testing results
  • Create and release manufacturing documentation and drawings
  • Interface with production and integration teams to ensure final harness designs can be produced and installed on schedule

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience with CAD and FEA software packages
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter
  • Experience with wire harness 3D design, wire harness installation drawings, and formboard creation
