Position Summary:

The Senior Category Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving category management strategies through comprehensive data analysis and actionable insights. This role demands a strong customer orientation and the ability to cultivate robust relationships across various departments and with external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze market trends within the produce category to identify growth opportunities and develop strategies for profitable sales enhancement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather insights and provide recommendations on category management initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Marketing department to align on innovation budgets and strategic planning.
  • Deliver insights related to shelf design and product assortment strategies.
  • Develop and implement customer scorecards to track performance metrics.
  • Oversee third-party data providers to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Prepare and maintain Customer Category Reviews to inform strategic decisions.
  • Create New Item Trackers and benchmarking reports to monitor progress.
  • Stay informed about customer activities, including promotions and product launches, to ensure effective execution of plans.
  • Lead special projects as assigned, contributing to personal and professional growth.
  • Utilize analytical skills to derive actionable insights that support the growth of the packaged salad category.
  • Extract and analyze customer data to identify trends and opportunities within the category.
  • Assist in crafting internal and external presentations to enhance sales opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate ideas and strategies to both customer and internal leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within the grocery or perishable sector.
  • Thorough understanding of category management analytics, tools, and processes.
  • Expertise in syndicated data sources (Nielsen/IRI, Spectra, Panel Data).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Google Apps (Gmail, Slides, Sheets).
  • Ability to maintain focus and manage workload effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to plan and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly identify trends and business solutions.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
