We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Software Developer for a long-term contract assignment with Core Technology Solutions. This role is an excellent opportunity to work with complex business systems, leveraging your expertise in Cobol and DB2.

*This is a W2 long-term direct hire role that requires US Citizen work status. No C2C or 3rd party candidates, please.*

**This is an hybrid position in Columbia, SC. Candidates must be local to Columbia SC or within a comfortable commuting distance and be willing to work onsite three days a week for this role.

About the Role:

You will be working on the core commercial (non-government) claims systems conducting analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of business requirements. Your responsibilities will include working in a team environment, communicating effectively verbally and in writing, and producing deliverables related to assigned projects.

  • Perform analysis, design, programming, and implementation of systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems.
  • Evaluate interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.
  • Apply conversions and enhancements to business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Ensure solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural standards. Assist in post-implementation support and system enhancements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree, or additional job-related work experience.
  • 6+ years of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
  • COBOL and DB2 experience required.
  • Nice to Have: EZTrieve, Endevor, JCL and CICS. Scripting experience using Python Day to Day.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and possess strong interpersonal skills/team building.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees across IT.
