Job Overview

Hotel Equities, a distinguished leader in hotel development and management, is seeking a dedicated Safety and Security Specialist for the Hilton in Harrisburg, PA.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The primary objective of this role is to proactively identify, address, and manage any security-related issues, emergencies, or concerns in alignment with established policies and regulations, ensuring the safety and protection of the hotel's assets, guests, and staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular patrols of the hotel premises, including outdoor parking areas, to identify and address any unusual activities, safety hazards, or suspicious individuals.
  • Maintain a detailed daily log of security incidents, including thefts, accidents, and safety violations.
  • Complete necessary documentation for any property loss or personal injury incidents involving guests or employees.
  • Familiarize yourself with all hotel emergency protocols and respond promptly to alarms or distress calls, providing first aid and CPR as required.
  • Investigate security incidents thoroughly and enforce the hotel's policies, including the 'No Solicitation Policy.'

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Manage the security of the hotel key system, including issuing and retrieving keys.
  • Assist with cash handling procedures as needed.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations.
  • No travel is required for this position.

WORK SCHEDULE

Flexible hours with varying shifts based on operational needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

Current CPR and First Aid certification is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to recognize signs of substance abuse are essential. Proficiency in using a portable radio is necessary, and knowledge of a second language may be beneficial.

Skills

Excellent auditory and visual skills are required for effective communication and safety inspections. Strong verbal communication skills are essential for interaction with guests and staff.

Abilities

Physical capabilities such as lifting, pushing, and carrying may be necessary in emergency situations. Mobility is required for continuous patrolling and responding to incidents.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent experience is required. Previous experience in a security role is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position involves working indoors for the majority of the time, with some outdoor responsibilities. Candidates should be prepared for varying temperatures.
