Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper/Business Manager to join our team at GFT. As a key member of our financial operations department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and supporting our administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing.
  2. Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for the executive team and board of directors.
  3. Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting, providing insights on financial health and performance.
  4. Manage payroll, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  5. Support the preparation for audits and manage all necessary documentation.
  6. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  7. Manage day-to-day administrative tasks to support organizational operations.
  8. Handle invoicing and grant billing, ensuring timely submission and compliance with funder requirements.
Requirements
  1. Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, QuickBooks certification) or equivalent experience are a plus.
  2. Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, ideally within a nonprofit organization. Familiarity with federal and state grant reporting is advantageous.
  3. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) and capable of adapting to new financial technologies as required.
  4. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential to maintaining precise financial records and reporting.
  5. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess financial data critically and present actionable insights.
  6. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  7. Organizational Skills: Exceptional time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
