Job Summary

Creative Learning Center is seeking a compassionate and reliable Student Transport Driver to safely transport students with special needs to and from community activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a transport vehicle to transport students to various community activities, including field trips, sports events, and other extracurricular activities.
  • Assist students in boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle, conducting routine inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Follow all traffic laws and school policies to ensure a safe travel experience for all passengers.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents regarding transportation schedules, delays, and any concerns.
  • Support and accommodate students with special needs, including providing assistance as needed during transportation.
  • Manage any emergency situations calmly and efficiently, following established protocols.
  • Complete required documentation, such as vehicle inspection reports and incident logs, as needed.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety procedures and school policies.
Requirements
  • Valid CA driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening required.
  • Experience driving larger vehicles preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience in special education and understanding of students' unique needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate varying transportation needs and activity times.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to assist students with mobility challenges and lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Good vision and hearing to ensure safe driving practices.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
