MRI Technologist Outpatient Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at White Plains Hospital. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and special procedure imaging, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting radiologists as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol.
- Assume responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produce good technical images, reviewing completed scans for quality and completeness.
- Assist physicians during procedures as necessary and perform quality assurance and calibrations as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all areas, equipment, and accessories, and report any malfunctioning equipment to the MRI supervisor.
- Perform routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/films, and documenting information on patient requests.
- Notify front desk staff upon exam completion and introduce themselves and educate each patient or family member regarding the examination that is ordered.
- Be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical, and psychosocial stature of patient populations.
- Attend staff meetings and in-services and perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must graduate from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program.
- Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT), ARMRIT become ARRT MR certified within 1 year of hire date.
- Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies.
- BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
- MRI safety certification level 2 required yearly.

- Assessment skills, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, planning and organizing, sound problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills, and stress tolerance are essential.
Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment:
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside all of the MRI zones to access coils, patients, and paperwork. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. Must be able to exchange accurate information with patients who have questions about their bills/financial obligations. Must be able to observe and inspect employees and patients in all of the MRI zones. Frequently move and position patients for MRI exams. May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks.
