The Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in strategic sourcing and will assist in enhancing operational support under the guidance of the Procurement Manager. This position requires a proactive, hands-on individual capable of prioritizing multiple projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize tasks based on directives while adhering to established timelines.
  • Communicate potential solutions and business challenges to management.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and relevant departments to address procurement-related issues.
  • Become familiar with and utilize the database of preferred suppliers, their capabilities, and industry trends.
  • Assist in developing sourcing strategies aimed at cost reduction and process enhancement within the department and across the organization.

  • Evaluate current procedures and propose improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and profitability.
  • Support management initiatives to boost efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; communicate enhancement ideas for existing processes.
  • Learn and execute pricing negotiations for purchased items and deliveries with suppliers and vendors.
  • Identify inefficiencies in procurement processes and recommend solutions to address these challenges.
  • Perform procurement tasks such as requesting quotes, reviewing pricing, generating purchase orders, and finalizing deliveries.
  • Achieve savings through volume, recurring, and pre-negotiated agreements.
  • Coordinate with staff and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services.
  • Assist with site locations to ensure suppliers meet their obligations.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of UKG is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable principles and practices.
  • Exceptional time management skills, particularly for remote work.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as required.
Education and Experience:
  • An associate degree in business or a related field is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred. An additional 2 years of experience may substitute for the associate degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Vendor Relations, Procurement, or a combination of both is required.
  • Experience in vendor relations and procurement; a dynamic, cross-functional operative.
  • Experience working with teams and customer relations; committed to continuous self-improvement.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Ability to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS).
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment.
