Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technology Engineer, Renewables to join our team at Addison Group. This is a key role that will play a critical part in driving the development and implementation of our renewable energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology Development and Implementation
    • Collaborate with technology counterparts to ensure that our technology engineering tools and processes are up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices.
    • Develop and maintain internal design standards to support the development of commercial proposals and the execution of awarded projects.
  • Technical Proposal Generation
    • Lead the development of technical proposals in support of our commercial team, ensuring that they are comprehensive and aligned with our business objectives.
  • Project Execution and Support
    • Responsible for the development of the expert basis during project execution, including performance guarantees and guiding the engineering team.
    • Collaborate with colleagues globally to drive technology development positioning for successful award of future licenses.
  • Field Support and Training
    • Contribute to and support our Field Support team to safely and successfully commission new units, including development and review of startup/shutdown procedures.
    • Provide training to our team members from all business units, as needed.
  • Technology Promotion and Collaboration
    • Promote our technologies with external parties to present technical advantages in various meeting formats.
    • Assist and support our Renewables technologies beyond those of primary responsibility, including lipids hydro processing (Vegan) technology.
  • Travel and Collaboration
    • Domestic and international travel up to 25% of time to promote technologies and engage in various commercial unit activities.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or relevant discipline required.
    • Master's or PhD in the above-listed disciplines a plus.
  • Experience
    • Five (5) years' of demonstrated experience with biomass conversion technologies required, with experience on bioethanol and/or biomass gasification technologies preferred.
    • Three (3) years of experience with hydro processing of fats, oils, and greases (lipids) preferred.
    • Field experience preferred, including commissioning/startup/shutdown activities and ongoing operation unit support.
  • Skills and Expertise
    • Expertise in chemical engineering fundamentals, including reaction engineering, catalyst, and general chemistry required.
    • Experience with PRO/II simulation software and Excel-based modelling tools preferred.
    • Experience in basic process design, project engineering, and economics preferred.
    • Experience giving technical presentations to large audiences with strong technical expertise preferred.
