Collaborating closely with the Director of Technology Services, your role will be pivotal in advancing the organization's strategic goals through the implementation of datacenter infrastructure with a focus on a 'Cloud First' strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all phases of the infrastructure system lifecycle, from gathering requirements to ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Install and configure hardware and software across various Hampton Roads Transit locations to facilitate project needs.
  • Establish and manage on-premises infrastructure tailored to organizational requirements.
  • Implement virtualization technologies utilizing platforms such as VMware vCenter and Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance strategies along with software and firmware updates for the datacenter environment.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity measures by adhering to industry best practices and vendor guidelines.
  • Oversee Incident Response initiatives and ensure adherence to State of Good Repair standards.
  • Provide essential support for critical Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Automate management processes and oversee the SCCM server for centralized system control.
  • Establish endpoint security protocols and integrate them with existing security frameworks.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation of system configurations and procedures.
  • Assist with specialized Transit software applications and manage Office 365 administrative tasks.
  • Monitor system logs for irregularities and comply with project and change management protocols.
  • Uphold cybersecurity practices and manage records in alignment with Transit policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology Services.
