Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures and examinations for radiological diagnosis.
- Administer radio-pharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures.
- Operate computed tomography (CT) scanners that are used in conjunction with nuclear medicine procedures.
- Provide images, data analysis, and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.
- Process data and enhance digital images using advanced computer technology.
- Evaluate images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.
- Evaluate new protocols.
- Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) every 3 years.
- Perform quality control and reporting tasks, set up and conduct procedures, maintain day-to-day schedules, assist radiologists, and contribute to the efficient operation of the department to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.
- Acquire patients' chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room setup and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study, and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
- Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and safety.
- Review each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examinations to radiologists, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of patients following the procedure.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (PET technologists only).
- CT Certification within 180 days of hire.
- 1+ years of experience.
- Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiology, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine.
The hourly range for this position is $28.03 to $54.95 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including education, work experience, certifications, and more.
