Job Summary:
As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist Coordinator at SUNY Upstate Medical University, you will be responsible for performing various hematology and/or chemistry automated, semi-automated, and manual procedures as defined by the CP Core Lab procedure manual. You will assume the responsibility as lead technologist of differentials and cell counts, including equipment/method troubleshooting, supply inventory, writing and reviewing procedures, training new staff and students in conjunction with the supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hematology and/or chemistry automated, semi-automated, and manual procedures as defined by the CP Core Lab procedure manual.
  • Assume responsibility as lead technologist of differentials and cell counts.
  • Conduct equipment/method troubleshooting and supply inventory.
  • Write and review procedures.
  • Train new staff and students in conjunction with the supervisor.

Requirements:
  • NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
  • Master's Degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences, with two years of Clinical Laboratory experience focusing in Hematology and/or Chemistry.
  • NYS Licensed/eligible to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, and a minimum of four years of Clinical Laboratory experience focusing in Hematology and/or Chemistry.
  • Ability to distinguish colors required.

Preferred Qualifications:
ASCP Specialty in Hematology.

Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays.
