Employment Opportunity: Airport Mobility Assistant

Bags, a leading provider of mobility solutions, seeks a dedicated and compassionate Airport Mobility Assistant to join our team.

Estimated Salary Range: $16-$18 per hour (plus tips)

About the Role

As an Airport Mobility Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to passengers with mobility needs at one of our airport facilities. This includes pushing wheelchairs to and from gates, assisting with luggage, and ensuring a safe and secure experience for all passengers.

This is a physically demanding role that requires on-the-job security training and the ability to obtain applicable airport security badges.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide wheelchair assistance to passengers to and from gates
  • Ensure wheel brakes are in place prior to allowing passengers to exit the wheelchair
  • Complete any necessary wheelchair or incident reports
  • Follow dispatcher gate orders
  • Maintain a friendly and positive attitude, and be attentive to each passenger's individual needs
  • Maintain professional working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, airline employees, and airport authorities
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to clear a background and drug screen
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and push a loaded wheelchair up to 300lbs up and down inclines throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift passengers from the wheelchair to the seat on the plane
  • Experience in customer service preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Working Conditions:

This role requires regular standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, turning, stretching, and bending. The employee must also be able to move in a relatively quick manner and maintain close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
