POSITION SUMMARY:
The Innovation Industries division at NYCEDC is responsible for managing real estate and capital initiatives, financial incentives, regulatory improvements, and workforce development programs aimed at ensuring New York City remains at the forefront of innovation. We strive to create opportunities for all New Yorkers across various sectors, including technology, life sciences, clean technology, and creative industries.
As representatives of our industry, we engage with leaders from the private sector, philanthropic organizations, government, NGOs, and academia to navigate the evolving landscape of key growth sectors in New York City. Our projects include the establishment of laboratories, production facilities for video games, and innovation hubs focused on mobility and energy storage.
We are seeking to hire two Senior Project Managers, each reporting to a Vice President. These managers will oversee both established and emerging projects, involving research, strategy formulation, procurement, implementation, and project closure. They will coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and maintain communication with various stakeholders from both public and private sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee project planning and monitoring, ensuring that objectives are met and deadlines are adhered to.
- Assist in program management by tracking project milestones and reporting on metrics, impact, and financial outcomes.
- Facilitate project estimation, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure precise planning and accountability.
- Support procurement processes, including outreach, due diligence, and documentation for contracting and implementation.
- Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, regulatory challenges, and policy dynamics.
- Prepare presentations and reports for key stakeholders, including senior management and partner agencies.
- Engage with industry partners, workforce development organizations, and regulatory bodies to promote innovation priorities.
- Organize events such as roundtables and advisory meetings, equipping speakers with necessary background information.
- Contribute to team development and departmental growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in technology, life sciences, environmental sectors, or creative fields preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as corporate development, investment banking, or management consulting.
- Proven expertise in industry research, project management, and financial analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking capabilities.
- Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and opportunities.
- Analytical and strategic mindset, capable of addressing complex challenges creatively.
- Self-motivated and collaborative team player, organized and focused on results.
- Must establish and maintain residency in New York City within 180 days of employment.
Compensation: Salary range is $83,000—$85,000 USD.
