Job Summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracting Paralegal to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will be responsible for providing strategic, proactive, and practical legal advice and services to support the company's operations and assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, and company procedures.
  • Draft contracts based on term sheets, financial models, and approvals.
  • Communicate contract policies and practices to internal business teams and ensure contract review, approval, and execution are in accordance with standard contract requirements and contract guidelines.
  • Prepare and administer routine correspondence and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal and execution.
  • May conduct research to support contract audit.
  • Coordinates approvals and responses during contract negotiation.
  • Performs contract closeout activities, including informing stakeholders that the contract has been signed.
  • Reviews contracts upon renewal to determine if changes to financial terms, IT, and operational requirements are needed.
  • Consults with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other relevant stakeholders to determine who will be responsible for communicating changes internally and externally.
  • Drafts and negotiates various healthcare documents and commercial agreements.
  • Reviews internal and external marketing materials.
  • Assists with ad hoc projects as needed, including document review and business process improvement.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in contract administration; healthcare experience preferred.
  • BA, BS, or equivalent experience in a related field preferred. Advance degree may be preferred.
  • Must be a quick learner and possess excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in MS Word and Excel.
