We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Veterinarian to join our team at WellHaven Pet Health Downtown Vancouver. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional veterinary care, leading our team of veterinarians and support staff, and driving business growth and success.
About the RoleThe Principal Veterinarian will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality veterinary care to our patients, including medical diagnosis, treatment, and surgery
- Leading and mentoring our team of veterinarians and support staff to ensure excellent patient care and business results
- Developing and implementing business strategies to drive growth and profitability
- Collaborating with our Practice Manager to ensure seamless hospital operations
- Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through ongoing professional development and continuing education
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree
- State Veterinary Board License
- 5+ years of experience practicing as a DVM in a hospital setting
- Prior experience training associate doctors and paraprofessional staff
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
