We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Graduate Assistant to join our team at the Duke Club, the fundraising arm for James Madison University Athletics. As a Graduate Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and execution of fundraising events, donor stewardship, and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with day-to-day customer service, including answering phones, accessing donor/member account information, and processing payments.
- Contribute to the development and execution of project plans, pre- and post-event plans, and event management assistance.
- Prospect, communicate, and serve as the point of contact for vendors participating in Friday Night Flights.
- Research, prospect, and sell sponsorships for the Duke Club Golf Classic.
- Assist with tracking and monitoring of RSVPs for all Duke Club events.
- Work collaboratively with the director of special events and donor stewardship, director of internal development, and graduate assistant for marketing and communication to execute marketing and communication plans for all Duke Club events.
- Run monthly membership reports to send membership packets to donors who have given a minimum gift of $75 or more to the Proud and True Fund.
- Track and oversee a master list for membership packets and various stewardship incentives throughout the calendar year.
- Serve as stewardship and reporting lead/manager, working with an event and stewardship intern to execute the mailing/sending process of some stewardship.
- Manage the Student Duke Club, providing administrative support to the board and president.
- Work with the marketing and communication GA to develop communication plans for the club.
- Benefit fulfillment, including membership t-shirts, early access to basketball and football games, and exclusive opportunities.
- Database management in Paciolan.
- Plan and execute a yearly plan for the Student Duke Club with the board.
- Must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated familiarity and/or interest in non-profit work and/or college athletic fundraising.
- Has had experience executing fundraising events.
- Demonstrated familiarity and/or interest in donor stewardship.
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, management, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
