Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Manager to lead our team at Shopko Optical. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sales, profit, and customer service objectives in our optical department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Optical Team
    • Effectively manage and motivate a team of optical professionals to achieve sales, profit, and customer service goals.
    • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to ensure team members have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Drive Business Growth
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance the overall shopping experience.
    • Monitor and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Customer Service and Patient Care
    • Provide exceptional customer service and patient care to ensure a positive shopping experience.
    • Ensure that all team members are knowledgeable about products, services, and company policies to provide accurate and helpful information to customers.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee the daily operations of the optical department, including inventory management, supply chain logistics, and equipment maintenance.
    • Ensure that all optical equipment and tools are in good working condition and that team members are trained to use them effectively.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in a retail or optical setting.
  • Optical Knowledge
    • ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required within 12 months of hire/promotion.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
    • Ability to analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other optical software applications.
