Organization Overview

Sakhi for South Asian Survivors (Sakhi) is committed to advocating for the South Asian and Indo-Caribbean communities within a survivor-led initiative focused on gender equity. Sakhi offers direct support, advocacy, technical guidance, and outreach to individuals who have experienced violence from various backgrounds.

About this Role:

We are looking for a dedicated full-time Economic Empowerment Program Specialist to provide financial empowerment services to individuals affected by gender-based violence. The Specialist will collaborate closely with the Manager of the Economic Empowerment Program and the broader Sakhi team to ensure effective service delivery to those in need.

Position Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive case management for individuals
  • Advocate for equitable access to public benefits and services
  • Connect individuals with job training workshops and career advancement opportunities
  • Facilitate financial literacy workshops and capacity-building initiatives

Program Documentation and Development

  • Maintain precise records of survivor-related activities
  • Engage in team meetings and training sessions
  • Pursue continuous education to enhance skills and knowledge

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with experience in financial skills development
  • Fluency in South Asian/Indo-Caribbean languages
  • Background in gender justice is preferred
  • Experience in community-focused work
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities

Salary Range: $60k-$65k with benefits including health, dental, PTO, and parental leave.
