Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including lesson planning, instruction, and assessment, under the guidance of certified teachers.
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as toileting, dressing, and hygiene, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Participate in crisis intervention and discipline, using de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and promote positive behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents, using clear and respectful language to convey information and address concerns.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • 1 year of experience working with children with special needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Ability to lift 1-15 lbs regularly and 26-40 lbs occasionally, with frequent standing, walking, and bending.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including mornings and occasional evenings.
