Job Summary

Fast Pace Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Primary Care Medical Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our primary care team, you will provide clinical and administrative support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Support:
    • Triage patients by checking and recording vital signs, collecting and recording pertinent clinical history, and charting in the Electronic Medical System (EMS)
    • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake
    • Assist primary care providers in patient assessments, examinations, and minor procedures
    • Observe patients, charting, and reporting changes in patient conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and take necessary action
    • Perform lab testing and phlebotomy, handling and labeling specimens for laboratory and pathology testing
    • Perform wound care and suture removal as needed
    • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams
    • Ensure patient comfort and confidentiality during procedures
  • Administrative Support:
    • Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and schedule referrals
    • Maintain and update patient records
    • Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments
    • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
    • May perform as a scribe as needed
    • Assist providers with conducting proper patient follow-ups, including but not limited to, conducting follow-up calls within 1-2 days of treatment, respond to messages within the same day of receipt
    • Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and triage urgent messages to primary care providers
    • Manage inventory, order medical supplies and medications as needed
  • Non-Essential Functions:
    • Assist with urgent care activities as primary care schedule allows
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management
    Requirements
    • At least 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a primary care setting
    • High School Diploma or Its Equivalent
