Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment. This includes maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, as well as training and development of production maintenance employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Safe and Healthy Workplace: Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Supervise Maintenance Crew: Supervise and manage the maintenance crew to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Manage Repair Parts Inventory: Manage the repair parts inventory to ensure that all necessary parts are available for maintenance and repair.
  • Create Work Orders and PMs: Create work orders and PMs to ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are properly documented and tracked.
  • Install New Equipment: Install new equipment and ensure that it is properly integrated into our plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot Problems: Troubleshoot problems with equipment and take corrective action to minimize downtime.
  • Provide Safe Work Environment: Provide a safe work environment for employees and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Recognize and Resolve Operating Problems: Recognize and take steps to resolve operating problems to minimize their impact on operations.
  • Cooperate with Departments: Cooperate with all departments to ensure a coordinated work relationship exists at all times.
  • Keep Accurate Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including timecards, downtime records, and absentee records.
  • Enforce Company Policies: Enforce company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Encourage Employee Suggestions: Encourage suggestions from employees to improve production, quality, safety, and control costs of production.
  • Keep Manager Informed: Keep the manager informed on operating and employee problems that may require their attention or knowledge.
  • Schedule Crew Overtime: Schedule crew overtime as needed to ensure that maintenance and repair activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in Organizational Teams: Participate in organizational teams and committees to ensure that maintenance and repair activities are aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Perform Maintenance Manager Duties: Perform the duties of the Maintenance Manager in their absence.
  • Adhere to Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained to maintain SQF Level 3 certification.
  • Report Safety Concerns: Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
  • Maintain Positive Work Atmosphere: Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive and respectful work environment.
