Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant/Mobile Occupational Health Specialist to join our team at Henry Ford Health. As a key member of our ambulatory care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and clinical support to healthcare providers and patients, including greeting and escorting patients, taking medical histories, and recording vital signs.
  • Assist with preparing patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, and provide support during medical procedures.
  • Collect and process specimens, perform CLIA-waived tests, and conduct electrocardiography, respiratory, and other testing as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, monitor patient flow, and ensure timely and efficient delivery of care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives, and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care and communication.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent.
  • Completion of a clinical externship and basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
  • Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.
  • Current BLS-C certificate and Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification preferred.
