Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Eligibility Specialist to join our team at Northwest Senior & Disability Services. As an Eligibility Specialist, you will play a critical role in determining financial eligibility for benefits and enrolling consumers in various medical assistance programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine Eligibility: Conduct interviews with individuals to gather necessary information, explain benefits and resources available, and review application documents for completeness.
- Process Applications: Assist applicants in obtaining verifications, collaborate and coordinate with other agencies, and process forms and documents.
- Apply Program Rules: Apply program rules and policy to determine if individuals qualify for programs and provide notification of eligibility decisions timely and completely.
- Maintain Consumer Files: Maintain electronic and paper consumer files, including data entry and narration of ongoing work.
- Provide Ongoing Support: Provide ongoing consumer maintenance, including receiving, reviewing, and processing updated information from consumers, adjusting benefits as needed, and verifying information.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of equivalent combination of education and/or experience demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities required to do the essential functions of this job.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The successful applicant must have the ability to understand and interpret applicable policies, apply knowledge and skills in a timely and accurate manner, process a high volume of work with critical deadlines, and exhibit excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills.
Work Environment: This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven position where accuracy, efficiency, and excellent customer service are essential. The job is performed primarily in the office with possible occasional work in the field.
