Mazars USA is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join our Trust and Estates Tax team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing sophisticated tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to high-net worth and ultra-high-net worth individuals, their closely held businesses, estates, family offices, and trusts.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients on estate, gift, and fiduciary tax matters.
- Prepare complex estate (Form 706), gift (Form 709), and fiduciary income (Form 1041), and individual income (Form 1040) tax returns.
- Supervise other Tax staff assigned to Estate, Gift, and Fiduciary client tax engagements.
- Research and consult on various estates, gift, fiduciary, and income tax-related issues that impact clients.
- Ensure timely filing of all client-related tax returns and documents.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field of study.
- Advanced tax degree (MST, LLM, JD) is preferred.
- CPA or parts of the CPA exam.
- 3+ years of relevant tax experience working in a CPA firm, a professional services firm, a tax consulting practice, or a family office environment.
- Strong tax technical background developed from preparation of income tax returns for all types of entities.
- Experience with CCH, Axcess, ProSystem, and other tax-related software.
- Experience with Checkpoint, Intelliconnect, and Bloomberg BNA research.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite tools.
- Prior supervision and evaluation of other tax staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
