The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement and supply chain processes for a high-volume manufacturing facility. This includes developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with the company's top priority vendors and suppliers to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and timely delivery of materials and components to support production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the strategic procurement and supply chain plan to support the company's manufacturing objectives and growth.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, trusted partnerships with the organization's top priority vendors and suppliers to ensure reliable supply and responsiveness.
- Lead the procurement team in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new suppliers to expand the vendor base and increase supply chain resilience.
- Negotiate favorable contracts with vendors, including pricing, lead times, delivery terms, and flexibility/responsiveness.
- Oversee materials and inventory planning to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize excess or shortage.
- Analyze supply chain performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, logistics, and finance teams to align procurement and supply chain activities.
- Manage the procurement team, including goal-setting, training, and performance evaluations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement and/or supply chain management, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and inventory optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve supply chain issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with supply chain management software and data analysis tools.
