OVERVIEW: The Marine Service Specialist is tasked with the maintenance and restoration of vessels, machinery, and trailers.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of Factory Technician Certification
  • Expertise in generator repairs, air conditioning systems, electronics, and electrical troubleshooting
  • Knowledgeable about the factory warranty procedures
  • Basic safety training, including boat operation and trailering
  • Evaluates vessel conditions and effectively conveys the nature and extent of issues to the service advisor
KEY TASKS:
  • Conduct diagnostics and repairs on various marine engines, transmissions, drives, generators, and air conditioning units.
  • Perform mechanical repairs including:
    • Removal and repair of engines, transoms, or outdrives
    • Disassembly of units and inspection of components for wear
    • Overhauling or replacing carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical, and fuel systems
    • Rebuilding components such as engine cylinder blocks
    • Rewiring ignition systems, lighting, and instrument panels
    • Installing and repairing accessories like radios and marine electronics
  • Utilize hydraulic jacks or hoists as necessary.
  • Consult with shop management and insurance adjusters regarding required repairs.
  • Complete repair tasks using service scheduling tools within the designated timeframe.
  • Ensure all warranty repairs are executed according to manufacturer and MarineMax standards.
  • Safely operate MarineMax and customer vessels during diagnostic water testing.
  • Maintain MarineMax tools in optimal condition and in accordance with guidelines.
  • Keep certifications current and maintain compliance.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
