The Key Account Manager for the Eastern Shore is a pivotal member of our sales team, responsible for cultivating relationships with key clients to drive business growth within these accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of existing SiteOne accounts, typically managing between 40 to 60 accounts with a minimum total value of $3 million.
- Proactively pursue new business opportunities within current accounts, focusing on increasing profit margins in existing services or expanding SiteOne's reach into new service areas.
- Build and maintain strong, enduring relationships with key personnel at client organizations.
- Ensure clients are fully informed about and utilizing all of SiteOne's offerings, including educational resources, vendor support, and partnership programs.
- Achieve a minimum of $100k in gross margin growth annually.
- Utilize SiteOne's Territory Alignment tools to identify and prioritize key accounts.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction among assigned accounts.
- Collaborate effectively with various SiteOne resources, including Sales Support Representatives, Line of Business Specialists, and store associates.
- Employ solution-oriented sales tools and methodologies to maximize growth potential with assigned accounts.
- Track and report progress on opportunities to demonstrate measurable outcomes.
- Facilitate customer order placements and oversee the fulfillment process.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant professional and technical knowledge.
- Address customer complaints by investigating issues and formulating effective solutions.
- Work alongside the Business Development Manager or store staff to ensure a smooth transition for key accounts.
Desired Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in key account management.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in agronomics, landscape maintenance, or turf management.
- Proven track record of establishing strong client relationships to effectively drive sales, negotiate agreements, resolve conflicts, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Familiarity with the sales cycle and solution selling techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to engage decision-makers within client organizations.
- Strong communication skills to articulate value propositions and differentiate SiteOne's products and services.
- Quick decision-making abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
