Clinical Cancer Care Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Cancer Care Coordinator to join our team at Illinois Cancer Specialists. As a key member of our cancer care team, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless patient care from diagnosis through treatment.
About the Role:
- Obtain and verify patient insurance coverage information prior to treatment, educating patients on benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Assess patients' ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements, providing guidance on financial assistance programs as needed.
- Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and signature, forwarding necessary information to the billing office.
- Ensure accurate demographic and insurance updates in our computer system, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Develop professional relationships with financial aid providers, staying current on available options and networking to identify new resources.
- Perform additional duties as requested, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum three years' experience in patient services coordination or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) essential.
- Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPS coding application.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to utilize correct terminology.
