Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapy Assistant provides critical support to the Respiratory Care Department by performing clinical duties in accordance with department policy and state regulations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed Respiratory Therapists with patient care and treatment plans.
  • Monitor and maintain respiratory care equipment, ensuring proper function and safety standards.
  • Organize and replenish respiratory care supplies, managing inventory and ordering stock as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, and other departmental concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent in General Studies.
  • 1+ year of experience in Respiratory Care or a related field.
  • Certification or degree in a related medical field is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
