About the Role

Our Expedia Product & Technology division builds innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A unified, singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences for the traveler and our partners that drive loyalty and customer satisfaction.

The Strategic Program Delivery team sits within the Expedia Technology, Security and Privacy (ETSP) function. This team drives the strategy, objectives, and priorities through the lens of business value, and optimizing our operations to increase our efficiency and effectiveness. We are seeking an outstanding technical program manager who is looking to join a team focused on making our company and business secure by using top technologies and products.

This Technical Program Manager role will play a meaningful part in leading and supporting the efforts of key initiatives in the Cloud Center of Excellence within ETSP, focused on Cloud FinOps, infrastructure, assets, and governance. Working with the Cloud Center of Excellence team, you will be bringing a blend of strategy, engineering, and program management competencies to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and drive a portfolio of programs within the IT Infrastructure Engineering organization
  • Lead all aspects of program management (e.g., quarterly and yearly roadmap planning, overarching strategy and prioritization summation, setting measurable goals, progress tracking, issue resolution, dependency tracking, reporting and program communication)
  • Evaluate every feature request, capture detailed business requirements from partners and work closely with engineering managers to translate requirements into user stories for consumption by development and operations teams
  • Champion compliance of the Infrastructure teams with Expedia initiatives, and track progress and timelines
  • Understand when to apply Agile methodologies vs. traditional methodologies to achieve the best outcome
  • Develop project schedules, define timeframes, and prioritize tasks to deliver intended objectives within the agreed timeframes and ensuring that requirements are completed
  • Identify the type of resources required to support a project, and makes recommendations for specific people, technology, partners, etc.
  • Keep relevant stakeholders informed of progress toward or changes to task timing that impacts the project schedule
  • Proactively manages risk, working with the team to anticipate new risks and leads mitigation planning
  • Thinks holistically to identify opportunities around policies/ processes to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries
  • Assists with a whole systems approach to analyzing issues by ensuring all components (structure, people, process and technology) are identified and accounted for
  • Creates clear, concise, tailored, and organized communication materials (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages)
  • Design differentiated technical communications for various internal and external customers based on an understanding of their differing levels of familiarity with technical language, evangelizing program execution/delivery communication
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field; or Equivalent related professional experience
  • 4+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a technology company
  • Strong proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, Tableau, and Excel
  • High level of initiative and strong bias to action. You are able to find a path and get things done
  • Proven record working with cross-organizational teams to drive the completion of new features and/or projects as well as resolve operational issues Strong customer advocacy competence
  • Demonstrated experience building effective project/program plans and managing development processes, business stakeholders, engineering, and functional teams during execution
  • Flexibility in working hours required to meet with global technical groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM, Certified Scrum Master or Certified Technical Program Manager credentials preferred
  • Should be a self-starter, focused, and detail oriented
  • Someone who is pragmatic, and always finding ways to simplify processes
  • Experience with IT tools, observability, best practice processes, and/or infrastructure environments is a plus
  • Experience in IT infrastructure such as compute, storage, software development, networking, and operating systems a plus
Compensation

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $137,500 to $192,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $125,500 to $176,000. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $201,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500 to $192,500. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
