GENERAL OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer, this role is tasked with ensuring adherence to environmental health and safety standards while fostering a secure and healthy environment for all personnel and the surrounding communities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are fundamental to this position. Additional responsibilities may be assigned and could also be deemed essential functions of the role.

  • Formulate and execute a strategic plan to guarantee a safe and healthful environment for all staff and community members.
  • Conduct proactive assessments of environmental, health, and safety conditions to pinpoint potential issues and devise immediate corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that enhance a healthful atmosphere and mitigate safety risks, revising as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations from applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Design and/or facilitate safety training sessions for both staff and community members to address the developmental and educational needs of the organization.
  • Oversee the completion of mandatory OSHA documentation and reporting.
  • Provide analysis of key performance indicators for management, including trend identification, recommendations, and strategies for Environmental Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Manage the investigation of incidents, documenting findings and offering solutions to leadership to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee the training and development of safety leaders at both the corporate level and within communities.
  • Engage with and assess technical information from suppliers and service providers regarding various equipment, materials, and their associated services.
  • Perform all other related tasks as assigned.
