Job Summary

The Commissary Operations Specialist is responsible for receiving and processing incoming stock and merchandise, preparing and completing orders for delivery to inmates, and performing inventory and quality control. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and Processing: Receive and inspect incoming stock and merchandise, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Order Preparation: Prepare and complete orders for delivery to inmates, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct physical inventory and maintain accurate records, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move stock and merchandise.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Process requests for supplies and prepare merchandise for delivery according to established procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or inventory management role is preferred.
  • Safety Protocols: Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math and counting skills are required.
  • Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Working Conditions

This role may require physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
