Responsibilities:
  • Deliver patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and the nursing process.
  • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
  • Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and the healthcare team.
Requirements:
  • BSN degree
  • Relevant clinical competence in pediatric oncology
  • Ability to maintain interpersonal relationships, communicate effectively, and work efficiently to solve problems
  • Ability to work in a team, demonstrating effective communication and critical thinking
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English in a clear and concise manner
  • Visual, physical, auditory, and cognitive ability to assess patient status
  • Physical and mental health necessary to care for acutely ill patients
  • Ability to use basic data entry, retrieval systems, and the electronic medical record documentation system
Preferred Qualifications:
  • APHON or CPON certification
  • BLS and ACLS certification
