Hotel Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hotel Maintenance Manager to join our team at SR COMPANIES LLC. As a key member of our Environmental Services Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our hotel and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate all functions of the maintenance department to ensure an efficiently run hotel.
  • Monitor and coordinate maintenance duties to ensure the hotel is always in a clean, orderly, safe, and attractive condition.
  • React and take the lead in emergency repairs of any kind, seeking methods for completing repairs.
  • Develop and follow through on aesthetic improvement plans, including painting, staining woodwork, drywall repairs, and minor building repairs.
  • Monitor expenditures monthly to ensure compliance with department financial monthly budget.
  • Provide hands-on repairs as needed to ensure a proactive approach to all maintenance activities.
  • Resolve issues/problems with contractors through investigation and negotiations.
  • Assist new housekeeping staff with moving furniture in rooms and moving guests as needed.
  • Coordinate contracted services and monitor all maintenance functions to ensure adherence to schedule and quality.
  • Perform daily walk-around supervision of all responsible areas to ensure all work is completed correctly and timely.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guests, vendors, and visitors' requests for assistance.
  • Speak to/interact with guests constantly, showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls.
  • Practice good body mechanics and safe working habits.
  • Observe and report safety hazards immediately to supervisor.
  • Provide assistance to employees when requested or required.
  • Know, understand, and follow established policies and procedures in emergency situations.
  • Act as essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather.
  • Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies, and procedures.
  • Comply with attendance and call-off policy.
  • Attend and/or participate in trainings, in-service, and mandatory meetings.
  • Wear clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy.
  • Take on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise in the Environmental Services Department, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Appraise performance.
  • Reward and discipline employees.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
