Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in the healthcare team at St. Luke's, practicing medicine in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, the Nurse Practitioner evaluates and monitors patient health status, performs diagnostic and therapeutic services, and provides age-appropriate education and counseling for disease prevention, risk reduction, and health maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and monitor patient health status, including performing diagnostic and therapeutic services
  • Provide age-appropriate education and counseling for disease prevention, risk reduction, and health maintenance
  • Coordinate referrals for specialty care or social service support
  • Work collaboratively with the supervising physician and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the appropriate state licensing agency
  • Certified or eligible for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a national professional nursing organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the supervising physician and other healthcare professionals
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an emergency department or acute care setting
  • Knowledge of current practice standards for Nurse Practitioners
